Attractions in Kaziranga National Park

3 places to see, with what each one is and how long it takes.

Bagori (Western) Range

Experience

The western range, with the highest rhino density in the park. Jeeps run morning and afternoon and elephant rides also operate here, limited and booked at dawn. The grass is tall, so a morning slot sees more.

Agaratoli (Eastern) Range

Viewpoint

A quiet deciduous forest corridor flanking water lagoons, famous for spotting otters, storks, and rare nesting migratory eagles.

National Orchid and Cultural Park

Attraction

A local bio-park located near the gate, hosting hundreds of rare native orchid species, traditional loom exhibits, and Assam folk dances.

Elsewhere in Assam

Not in Kaziranga National Park — these are in other towns across the state.

Majuli Satras

Attraction

Majuli

Centuries-old Neo-Vaishnavite monasteries preserving dance, chanting and manuscript traditions.

Nilachal Hill Overlook

Viewpoint

Kamakhya Temple

The edge of the hill just past the temple, looking down on the Brahmaputra as it bends around Guwahati. Two minutes from the queue, and almost nobody walks over to it.
