Terms
The short version: CityDekho is a free guide, not a booking service. Check times and prices before you travel, write only what you actually saw, and the trip itself is yours to judge.

What CityDekho is
CityDekho is a guide to travelling in India. It is free to read, and you do not need an account for any of it. We are not a travel agent and not a booking site: we sell nothing, take no payments, and hold no reservations. Where a page links out to somebody who does take bookings, that is their business and their terms, not ours.
Using the site means you are fine with what follows. If you are not, the remedy is simple enough — stop using it, and tell us why on the feedback page, because a rule that drives people off is usually the wrong rule.
Treat times and prices as a starting point
Opening hours change, tickets go up, a road closes for the monsoon, a temple shuts for a festival nobody announced in English. We check what we publish and we correct what we get wrong, but a page you are reading today may have been right last month and wrong this morning. Before you travel a long way for one thing, confirm it with whoever runs it.
This matters most for entry fees, timings, permits and anything seasonal. If you find something out of date, the contact page reaches a person, and corrections are genuinely welcome.
Your account
You can save places and plan trips as a guest. Signing in keeps that work across devices and nothing more. Sign-in is by a link sent to your email or a code sent to your phone, so there is no password to choose and none for us to lose — but it does mean anyone who can read your inbox can reach your account, which is worth remembering.
Keep the details you give us accurate, and do not sign in as somebody else. You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time, and we will.
What you write here
Reviews, trip notes and trip titles are yours. You keep them. By posting, you give us permission to store and display them on CityDekho, and to show a shared trip to other travellers — including letting them copy it as a starting point for their own, which is the entire point of sharing one. Nothing else. We will not sell your writing or licence it on to anyone.
Two rules, and they are the same rule twice. Write your own words, from your own visit. Do not post somebody else’s writing or photographs, do not invent a visit you did not make, and do not write a review of your own business or a rival’s. A guide is only worth reading if the accounts in it are real.
Beyond that: nothing abusive, nothing that targets a person or a community, nothing illegal, and nothing designed to game the site. Every review carries a report link. We can remove anything that breaks these rules and, if it keeps happening, close the account — and we would rather tell you why than do it silently.
Photographs and writing
The words on CityDekho are ours. Read them, quote them, send them to a friend planning a trip. Do not republish the site wholesale or feed it into a scraper.
Most photographs are not ours. They come from Wikimedia Commons and from photo libraries including Unsplash, Pexels and Pixabay, each under its own licence, and those licences travel with the picture rather than with us. If a photograph or a piece of writing here is yours and should not be, tell us on the contact page and we will take it down while we sort it out, not after.
Travel is at your own risk
India will take you to high altitude, into water with a current, onto roads with a drop, and through weather that turns in an afternoon. We can tell you when the season is and where the road gets hard. We cannot make the trip safe, and reading a page here is not a judgement that a place is safe for you on the day you go. Your fitness, your permits, your insurance and your decisions on the ground are yours.
Things that will change
Pages get rewritten, features get added and removed, and these terms will be updated when the site does something new. The date at the top is the last time that happened. If a change materially affects an account holder we will say so rather than quietly editing the page.
The legal part, briefly
CityDekho is provided as it is. We do not promise the site will be available without interruption, that every fact on it is current, or that it will suit a particular trip. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that follows from using the site — a missed opening time, a closed road, a booking made elsewhere. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
These terms are governed by the law of India. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
The site is not intended for children to sign up to on their own. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian.
Getting in touch
Corrections, takedowns, account deletion, or an argument with something on this page — all of it goes through the contact page. How your data is handled is a separate document: privacy.
