Privacy
The short version: CityDekho measures which pages are useful, using its own tools and no personal data. Anything beyond that asks first, and takes no for an answer.
What we collect without asking
Every visit records which pages were opened, which links were followed, and roughly how long a page was read. This is measured by CityDekho itself, stays on CityDekho’s own database, and is not tied to a name, an email address or an advertising profile. It is what tells us that a destination page is being opened and abandoned, which is the difference between a page that exists and a page that works.
We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a profile of you.
What we collect only if you say yes
If you accept analytics cookies, two third-party services also receive your visit: Google Analytics, which tells us where visitors come from, and PostHog, which tells us how the site is used once you are here. Both set cookies on your device.
Neither loads at all until you choose Accept. If you choose Reject, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, they are never loaded — not loaded-and-silenced, not loaded. You can change your answer at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
If you create an account
Signing in stores your email address, the places you save, and the trips you plan. Sign-in is by emailed link, so we never hold a password. Accounts and content are stored with Supabase; the sign-in emails are sent through Supabase’s email provider, and other email from the site through Resend.
If you turn on push notifications, Firebase stores a device token so a notification can reach that browser. Turning them off removes it.
Photographs
Images are served from CityDekho’s own storage and from photo libraries including Unsplash, Pexels and Wikimedia Commons. Loading a page therefore makes a request to those services, which — like any website you load an image from — can see your IP address.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely, including your account. Under the UK and EU GDPR and under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you are entitled to all three, and we will act on any of them.
Ask through the contact page. If your request is about analytics rather than an account, the fastest fix is Cookie settings at the bottom of this page — rejecting stops collection immediately.
