Tso Kar is known for
A short history
The name refers to white salt efflorescence on the lake's margins caused by evaporation of its saline waters. Until recent decades it was an important salt source for Changpa nomads, who exported the salt to Tibet. [Source: en.wikipedia.org - Tso Kar]
