Kanha is one of India's largest and most beautiful tiger reserves, a landscape of sal forests and open meadows said to have inspired Kipling's 'The Jungle Book'. It is also the last home of the rare barasingha (swamp deer).

When to go

Best visited October to March when the weather is pleasant; core safari zones usually close during the monsoon.
