Naksaparvat

Archaeologists rate this higher than most visitors will, and for a fair reason: it is one of the few medieval sites in Arunachal Pradesh to have been dug systematically. The fortified settlement lies on the left bank of the Borgang River in the Pakke-Kessang foothills, divided into upper and lower habitation areas behind stone and earthen ramparts. Ring wells, a stone well, brick and stone plinths, sculptured pillars and the stone posts that once carried stilted houses survive, along with evidence of iron-working. Late medieval, somewhere between the 13th and 16th centuries, and generally assigned to the Chutia kingdom.
