Kohima Science College, Sazolie College, the Doordarshan Kendra and the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts all sit on the hilltop, along with the public water supply reservoir, which tells you what kind of place this Angami settlement of about 2,458 people has become, a working extension of the capital just west of it. Pulie Badze, named alongside it, tops out at 2,296 metres. Eight kilometres is close enough that this reads as a quiet edge of Kohima rather than a trip of its own.
