Distance is the thing most people underestimate here. Baratang lies 150 km north of Port Blair, in the North and Middle Andaman district, and moving between islands eats hours in a way a road map never prepares you for. Anyone selling it as a comfortable day out from the capital is selling you a day of travel with a short stop in the middle. Either give it a night, or fold it into a trip already heading north rather than doubling back afterwards.
