Neil Island

The name on the ticket may not be the one in your head: officially this is Shaheed Dweep, Martyr's Island, though Neil is still what most people say. It lies in Ritchie's Archipelago, 36 km northeast of Port Blair, close enough to be the easiest hop off the main island and short enough that people try to do it between breakfast and dinner. Give it a night instead. Somewhere this small is at its best in the hours after the day boats have gone, and staying over costs you very little.
