India's easternmost land is a volcanic island whose peak reaches 710 metres out of the northern Andaman Sea, about 74 km east of the main body of the Andamans. It covers only 7.6 sq km, small enough that the mountain is effectively the whole island, and the Geological Survey of India has classified it as active. Nothing about it is on the way to anywhere else. Unless you have a boat and a reason, this is an island to know about rather than plan around.
