Indira Gandhi Zoological Park

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park

Andhra Pradesh

Six hundred and twenty-five acres is a great deal of zoo to walk, and the setting does much of the work: this one sits inside the Kambalakonda Reserve Forest with the Eastern Ghats on three sides and the Bay of Bengal on the fourth. It is the third largest zoo in the country, holding around eighty species and eight hundred animals, and it was accredited internationally in 2022 for its dhole breeding. The entrance and exit gates are on opposite sides, one on the highway and one towards Beach Road at Sagar Nagar, so decide in advance how you are getting back. Closed on Mondays.
