This is a made place rather than an old one, a crafts village the state government laid out in 2009 across 28 acres at Madhurawada, a few kilometres out of Visakhapatnam. Knowing that helps, because nobody here is pretending it is a historic bazaar. What it does well is gather woodwork, jewellery, textiles and regional craft, most of it from rural India, into one walkable park with sculpture set through it, and craft festivals run across the year. Give it a slow couple of hours; skip it if your time in the city is tight.
