Tibet Museum (Dharamshala)

The permanent exhibition is titled I am Tibetan, this is my story, and it runs across ten sections. This is the Central Tibetan Administration's own museum, in the CTA complex at McLeod Ganj, and it makes no attempt at neutrality: it was set up in 1998 to document Tibetan history and culture and to press the case on the occupation, the human rights record and the environmental damage. The collection runs past 30,000 photographs, alongside everyday objects, video and installations. Go before you wander the rest of McLeod Ganj rather than after; it changes what you notice.
