Most people meet Kolasib without meaning to. It is the town you come through entering Mizoram from Assam, the border running alongside it and the road from the rest of India arriving this way, and it is the headquarters of Kolasib district besides. That makes it a good place to stop, refuel and sleep rather than a place to give a day to. Take it for the doorway it is; the state gets more interesting the further south you go.
