Book before you go. The mansion is part of Osmania University College for Women, works as a museum, and can be visited only with prior online booking rather than a walk-up. James Achilles Kirkpatrick, British Resident from 1798, began it in 1803 to a design by Lieutenant Samuel Russell of the Madras Engineers, and the result is a Palladian villa with a classical portico that resembles its near-contemporary, the White House. The World Monuments Fund put it on the 2025 World Monuments Watch, which tells you something about its condition. Worth the paperwork if colonial architecture interests you at all.
