Twenty-three temples stand here, most of them ruined, and all of them moved, the cluster having been relocated to the southwest of Alampuram village rather than lost. They were completed between the 9th and 11th centuries by the Rashtrakutas and the later Chalukyas, in a square-plan Nagara style, and were destroyed during the invasions of the 14th and 15th centuries. The largest, Papanasisesvara, keeps its plain outer walls and a rangamandapa inside, dedicated to Shiva as the dancer. It is about a kilometre and a half from the Navabrahma group, so do both in one morning.
