This one is a hotel now, which is the first thing to know: the Taj group took it over after the 2010 renovation, so access comes with a booking rather than a ticket. Nawab Sir Viqar-ul-Umra of the Paigah family completed it in 1893 on a hillock five kilometres from Charminar, and it was then the tallest building in Hyderabad. Falak-numa means mirror of the sky. The Nizam owned it later. Thirty-two acres of it, and unless you are eating or staying there, you will be looking at it from outside the gate.
