Champapur matters to Jains for a reason the statue cannot convey on its own. All five kalyanaks of Vasupujya, the twelfth Tirthankara, are held to have taken place on this ground, which makes it a Siddhakshetra. Rishabha, Parshvanath and Mahavira all spent monsoon retreats here, Mahavira twice. The statue is 31 feet, the tallest of Vasupujya in India and among the tallest in eastern India, built and given by a charitable trust. Come for what the site is rather than what has recently been put on it.
