The claim is Asia's largest rose garden, and the numbers behind it are thirty acres, 50,000 bushes and some 1,600 species, Royal William and Rosa gallica and the old centifolias among them. Mohinder Singh Randhawa guided the planting in 1967, and it carries President Zakir Husain's name. Peak bloom runs December to February, and the Rose Festival lands in February or March, when thousands come; a weekday morning is the version of this garden worth having. Medicinal trees grow among the beds too, bel and bahera and harar and camphor.
