Firozpur Fort

Firozpur's hexagonal fort spent most of its useful life as an ammunition dump, and that is the interesting part. The British took it over in 1835 and had it garrisoned by 1839; by 1858 it was producing munitions, with something like 10,000 bullocks, as many horses and 150 camels on the ground at any one time. Hitler named it in Mein Kampf and marked it as a target. Who built it is genuinely unsettled, Feroze Shah Tughlaq's reign or the Sikh period depending on the source. The Army's Golden Arrow Division has recently reopened it, so check it is open before making the trip.
