Second of the four dams the Damodar Valley Corporation built in its first phase, Konar went into service in 1955 across a tributary of the Damodar in Hazaribagh district. It has since been dressed up as a recreational spot, which in practice means somewhere to spend an afternoon beside water rather than anything to tour. Worth an hour if you are crossing the district anyway; not worth a detour of its own.
