Raja Digvijay Singh built this Kali shrine six or seven centuries ago, and it is still among the oldest temples around Madhupur, roughly 7 km from the town. Nine smaller temples stand close to the main one. Worship runs every day of the week and includes animal sacrifice, which is worth knowing before you bring children or a squeamish friend. The annual fair falls in Kartik, October or November, and draws thousands: good if you want the stalls and the noise, bad if you came for a quiet hour.
