Chhinnamasta Temple, Rajrappa

Rajrappa's shrine to Chhinnamasta pulls devotees from every part of Jharkhand, and across the borders from Bihar and West Bengal too, which tells you most of what to expect on a weekend. The draw for anyone not here to pray is the Tantric style of the architecture, which reads quite unlike the temples most visitors already know. Ten smaller temples stand around the main one, to Surya, Hanuman and Shiva among others. It is in Ramgarh district. Go on a weekday morning and you get the place at a pace where you can actually look at it.
