Built in 1670 under the Mughals and in the Mughal style, this is one of the oldest mosques in Jharkhand, standing in Chitarpur town in Ramgarh district. It has not been handed over to visitors. Prayer is held here every day, and that remains the building's first job, so come outside prayer times, dress as you would for any working mosque, and ask before you photograph. A building of 1670 still in daily use is a rarer thing than a ruin of the same date, and that is the reason to make the detour.
