Built in the shape of a chariot with eighteen wheels and seven horses, this hilltop temple on the Ranchi-Tata road near Bundu is modern rather than ancient. The foundation stone went down in 1991 and the deity was installed in 1994, paid for by a Ranchi trust. Knowing that helps: come for the carving and the hill, not for age. Shiva, Parvati and Ganesha have shrines here too, and there is a pond where devotees bathe at Chhath. A dharamshala on site takes pilgrims who stay the night.
