A hundred and eight prayer wheels ring the base of this stupa, and one slow circuit of them is essentially the visit. Inside the chorten are a complete set of the Kangyur and a Dorjee Phurba; the two shrine buildings beside it hold statues of Guru Rinpoche, and the monastery next door, where young lamas study, keeps large images of Padmasambhava. It stands about five hundred metres above the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, which makes the pair a single short walk. Give it the time one circuit takes and no more.
