St. Joseph's Cathedral, Imphal

Mantripukhri, on the outskirts of Imphal, holds the Catholic cathedral for the whole archdiocese, the archbishop's own church, finished in 1999. Its design is described as Anglo-Manipuri fusion, which is the interesting part: a cathedral plan carrying local form rather than a copy of something European. It is recent, so come for that and not for age. Go if church architecture interests you, or if you are already out on that side of the city. It is not worth crossing town for.
