Imphal's largest Vaishnava temple went up in 1846 under Maharaja Nara Singh and was rebuilt thirty years later by Maharaja Chandrakriti, so what stands is the 1876 building rather than the first one. It is dedicated to Radha and Krishna in the Meitei Hindu tradition. Worth arriving when worship is on rather than at an empty hour: a courtyard on its own tells you very little about a temple of this size, and the district has nothing else on the same scale.
