Carvings of Shiva, Vishnu, Kartika and Mahisasura Mardini Durga are cut into a steep mountain wall on the bank of the Gomati, huge figures on rock that drops away to the river. The site is at Haakchak in Amarpur subdivision of Gomati district, 82 km from Agartala, 30 km from Udaipur and only 7.5 km from Amarpur, which makes Amarpur the sensible base rather than the capital. You will also find it written as Chakrakma or Chakwrakma. Give it a proper outing rather than a stop on the way to something else.
