Two temples, and it helps to know which is which before you arrive. Badi Bambleshwari stands on a hilltop of 1,600 feet; Chhotti Bambleshwari sits at ground level about half a kilometre from the main complex, and is the easier of the two if a climb is a question. Lakhs of people come during the Navratris, Kavar around Dusshera and Chaitra around Ram Navami, and the Jyoti Kalash lamps are lit then, which is both the best and the worst time to be here depending on whether you came for the crowd or in spite of it.

A ropeway now glides over the boulders for those who skip the stairs.
