The name promises a weekly village market. This one is permanent, ticketed and run by Delhi Tourism on six acres of reclaimed ground opposite INA. Sixty-two stalls turn over, usually on fifteen-day terms and allotted by the seller's home state, so the rosewood carving and camel-hide footwear on one visit can be brassware, beadwork or silk on the next. The thatched cottages and kiosks are set dressing, and the village atmosphere they buy is a designed one. Come for the food plaza and whatever is running in the exhibition hall, and treat the crafts as luck rather than a shopping list.
