Kalabhoomi is where Odisha's crafts are laid out properly rather than sold to you, with nine of its ten galleries open to the public across two blocks, handicrafts on one side and handloom on the other. The handicraft rooms cover terracotta, stone and wood carving, traditional painting and natural-material work; the handloom side runs from pre-weaving technique through tribal crafts to the cloth of Jagannath worship. A live section holds workshop zones and an open-air theatre. The building itself is laterite, the same stone as the state's oldest monuments. It opened in March 2018.
