An old centre of Shaivism in Deulajhari village, in the Athmallik sub-division of Angul district. The draw is water: 24 hot springs surround the Shiva Shree Siddeswar Baba temple, though temple records say there were once 84. The site runs to about 24 acres, most of it indigenous pandanus forest, kiabana, which is the reason to walk between the springs slowly rather than counting them off. Go for the forest as much as the temple.

Puri is an ancient holy city on the Bay of Bengal coast in Odisha, and one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage towns. Everything here turns on the 12th-century Shree Jagannath Temple, whose deities — Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra — are carved in wood rather than stone, a form found nowhere else. The city runs from the crowded Grand Road, thick with pilgrims, down to the wide sand of Puri Beach.
